Description

...I attribute this to the fact that probably 95% or more of his work is published in black and white, requiring him to use lines and shading to bring out three dimensional details that other artist can leave to the colorist. (Look at me, I�m an art critic!!!). Another great thing about purchasing art directly from the artist is that you get to hear some of the stories behind the art. One of the ways I display my best original comic art pages to the general public is to have it printed up on T-shirts which I wear to the conventions. In 2005, I created a T-shirt from the above art, and stopped by Mr. Chadwick's booth to give him one. He happened to be out at the time, so I tossed a shirt into his chair and ran away. After returning back from San Diego, I recieved the following message via my Ebay store Grail Page (hint, hint):

Not really asking about Mylar sleeves. I'm just back from Comicon, where I received your gift.

Thanks for the shirt with the Deadpool page on it. There's a funny story about it. Jimmy Palmiotti, when writing the story, asked me to draw that femme fatale as a mixture of Anglina Jolie, Gina Gershon, and a Frazetta woman. As if that were possible.

At least we know what Jimmy dreams of at night!

Personally, I think she looks more like Frank Cho's Brandy in the black and white version. Which all leads up to several recent fortuitous happenstances: 1) I just learned that the banned Hellbazer #141 which I featured a page in earlier will now be printed this year along other unpublished story in various one shots titled "Vertigo Resurrected" (COME ON JESUS MEETS SWAMP THING!!!), 2) Dark Horse will be relaunching the Dark Horse Presents title, featuring a new Paul Chadwick Concrete Story, and 3) Angelina Jolie will be attending this year's San Diego Comic Con. Why do I care?...
