DescriptionWhile page 10 is obvious to me in my gallery of cheap comic art, I had a little debate in my mind what page 9 should be. Since I'm in the final preparations for my trip to San Diego Comic Con tomorrow (07:15AM is going to be WAY to early in the moring), that broke the tie. I have a special affinity (or is it addiction) to Godzilla comic art, especially the Marvel Trimpe version. Coollines art, along with Graphic Collectibles, were my dealers for my previously mentioned Godzilla fix (ooooohhhh, sound so druggy). These two dealers had most of the remaining Godzilla pages available from the 1970's Marvel run by Herb Trimpe. This page I found in a miscelaneous Graphic Collectibles box during my first San Diego Comic Con in 2002. At the time, if I had to pick only one page of original comic art to own, this one was it, and I swore if I ever found it "I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER COMIC ART PAGE AGAIN!" It even looks like a lie when I type it out. I paid only $75.00 for this beauty, and also purchased several other pages from the "Godzilla vs Rat" and "Godzilla vs the Fantastic Four vs the Avengers vs J. Jonah Jameson" story line (man, Godzilla couldn't get along with anybody). This page also spins out serveral other tales, the first being that $75.00 doesn't sound so cheap for a page of original comic art. Well, it wasn't then, BUT IT IS NOW!!!Social/Sharing |
