DescriptionThis one has been in the works for a while now. From talking with Michael off and on this concept seemed to be a perfect fit. We both shared an affinity for the Miller/Claremont mini-series and I've been admiring his cover work for sometime. Michael hit this one out of the park and I send many thanks to Michael for taking the time to do this special piece for me!This was done with Inks, Markers, and some white paint on watercolor paper. Something about Wolverine and Ninjas. I don't know, sometimes that visual can be much more interesting than him fighting other costumed characters. I can definitely see the Miller flavor here, not to mention a bit of Kent Williams maybe, or even Sienkiwicz. Very cool.

I for sure see the Kent Williams feel, which I love Kent's take on Wolvie.

I love the bold artistic choices that Michael ran with in this commission. It has the same in-your-face tonal quality of a Bachalo layout coupled with the Del Mundo knockout punch of color palette and liquid lava-like visual flair, featuring such artistic treats as the cigar smoke that seems to take on an ethereal life of its own. This is a truly inspired commission, George, and you're lucky to have added it to your collection.
