DescriptionI was super suprised when Tom Hodges announced he was doing these headsketch commissions again. I thought I read something saying he was discontinuing them a cuple of years ago but I guess that wasn't the case.Christina was a villain from the short-lived Spider-Man cartoon that aired on MTV in the early 2000s, the one that seemed to take place after the first movie and focused on him in college with Harry and M.J.. Most of the villains on the show were brand new or stand-ins for preexisting characters. Christina was one of Peter's classmates and she dabbled in inventing, and she also had a huge crush on Spider-Man and considered him her soulmate. One of Christina's inventions was a jury-rigged "ESP Crown" she could use to read minds, and it actually worked. Problem was the wiring was a mess, and during a test run she was electrocuted. The accident gave Christina brain damage which was making her hallucinate that her photos and newspaper clippings of Spider-Man were talking to her and ordering her to do whatever it took to make sure they were boyfriend and girlfriend. She tended to suffer nose bleeds whenever she was hallucinating or being particularly crazy which is why I asked Tom to include it in the sketch. Her appearance culminated in kidnapping Mary Jane and trying to force Spider-Man to reciprocate her feelings, saying "He loves me, he just doesn't know it." She got sent to the hospital after almost getting killed in an elevator crash. Before she departed, Spider-Man was able to trick her into thinking his secret identity was a guy who worked at a coffee stand at the university. I think she had the potential to move past a generic stalker villain had the show continued, and it helps that she was legitimately mentally ill instead of just "Crazy because she's crazy." She could've been the show's version of Venom had she returned, maybe bonding with the symbiote after Peter discarded it and the two become driven by their desire to reunite with Peter no matter what.
