Maverick was such a fantastic characters from the nineties. Great piece here, and a fierce looking Sabretooth makes it that much better!

Who is the tall, dark stranger there?
Sabertooth is the name.
Ridin' the trail to who knows where,
Mystique is his companion,
Maraudin' is his game.
Smooth as a handle on a gun.
Victor Creed is his name.
Wild as the wind in Oregon,
Blowin' up a canyon,
Easier to tame.
Victor, ring your bell,
Logan you can go to Hell,
Holo is the lady that he loves the best.
Westchester to Queens,
Livin' with claws and teeth,
Sabertooth is a legend of the X.

I was JUST talking to my brother about this book! Synchronicity, so weird.
Great add, George. This early Cheung stuff is so cool, looking back.

Great fun to see a page from this early on in Cheung's career. That it happens to contain a Sabretooth slashing in action half-splash is a mega bonus!

You mean they made a comic based on the Mel Gibson movie? (Great action page!)

I think they made a comic based on a movie based on a James Garner tv show. Man I'm old.

Super cool example of early Cheung work right here. Victor Creed in the thrill of the hunt!

So you snatched up Andrew's last pages :) Jim's work on this series was incredible. I was lucky enough to get him to sign two of the pages I have this past weekend in Baltimore.

I love the pages you have shared! And awesome you were able to get Jim to sign them at Baltimore.
I looked back and I had first reached out to Andrew in 2010 and through some periodic follow ups and some home-moves later I was lucky enough to pick up these pages from him in 2021.

Oh man, what a great page from a super fun series. I'd kill for a page from this with the titular hero in action.

Thanks J!! And I learned a new word today, which is the perfect word for our series' hero.

Fabulous page from Cheung and Pepoy! Has Sabertooth ever looked more ferocious? I think not! Great pick-up!

Always cool seeing some of Jim's older stuff here! Great stoytelling here with those figures in the black background, then the close up slash, WITH speed lines! Congrats on adding another, man!

Cheung is such a master. He makes daring poses and inking choices look like standard fare because he is just that talented.
