Description

Growing up, George Gately's Heathcliff was my favorite comic strip. I remember we'd have book orders at school in the early days and I would go straight to the Heathcliff books and try to convince my parents that I needed as many as possible. I just really dug that irreverent cat.
Later I found other strips I appreciated (especially Bloom County), but Heathcliff always held a special place in my heart.
Eventually that love of comic strips turned into a love of comic books and later I of course caught the original art bug. I checked off a couple of Heathcliff pieces, but I really wanted a Heathcliff cover from the Star Comics days of Marvel. When this came to market via Comiclink I jumped on it.
I had to somehow keep my eye on the bidding while in the pit of a Pearl Jam concert. Luckily it was before they came on stage...

Rears his head on a cover made by Marvel again

Oh, feelin'

Maybe we'll see a little betters, cartoon days

Oh, paw out

Faces that he sees time again ain't that familiar

Oh, food grin

He can't help, when cat's happy, he looks insane

Heathcliff knows, thoughts arrive like Kremer lines

Oh, he don't know, so he chases them away

Oh, someday yet we'll be seeing Heathcliff again

Ha ha, nice! As a kid of the '80s, I know this show well. The intro music is running through my head as a write this :) Congrats, man!
