I got back into commissions in 2022. Checking off artists I've always wanted commissions from. Shawn McManus was one of those artists. I don't see too many commissions from him but he was high on my list. Big fan of his style as I really enjoyed his work on Omega Men, Dr fate and his Green Arrow stories.

Shawn was easy to work with and knocked out my commissions in a month.

Green Arrow about to get the drop on a couple of gangsters. Love the facial expressions on the two criminals. A great take on the Golden Age Green Arrow.
I added Shawn's colors that he did digitally.

Great throwback quality art by McManus who still has a sharp and concise vision with the skill to bring it to life. Golden age gangsters and Robin Hood like Green Arrow.

Love the two gangsters in front. Especially their facial expressions.

Really fun to see this. I especially love the look of the two goons. McManus has such a lively, almost animation type approach to his work. Been a fan since the early to mid 80's, especially when he did that great fill-in story which I think was called "Pog" for one of Alan Moore's Swampo Thing issues, issue #28 I think. Years later I loved seeing him as regular artist on Dr Fate. His command of composition and spoting his blacks in such a perfectly balanced manner is so fantastic to see.

The facial expressions, the spotting of the blacks, the layout and balance all hit the bullseye dead center.
