DescriptionDavid Wright had a facility for drawing women that quickly caught the eye of both agents and clients, so the man who had aspired to be a technical illustrator, by the outbreak of World War II became Great Britain's foremost pin-up artist. His pictures of beautiful women came to be called “lovelies” and were an immensely popular feature of "The Sketch".This is a beautiful daily from the Shadow of Suspicion story. The art features a portrait of Sue Lomas in the middle panel, with Carol and Mike Fletcher in the first and third panels and has Sue's brother throughout. Wonderful. Such clever use of black and hatching to draw the eye scene, and the arrangement and framing of the characters in the first panel is perfect. Wright creates so much interest for the viewer.
