Enter my nightmare. I purchased this from Steve Avgenakis, a CAF member I previously bought the Witchblade cover by Linsner in my gallery. I believed I could trust him, but I couldn't have been more wrong. He gave me a bogus tracking number and will not answer any of my emails. This was the most I have ever spent on a single piece of art. Do not make any purchases from him. His Ebay ID is Cryfordawnsteve. I had left a comment on Steve's CAF gallery, pleading with him to return my money or painting. This doesn't seem likely though. He has since deleted his whole gallery. This confirms that Steve has received my many emails and is ignoring me. He is a hypocrite and a coward. This whole experience has lowered my opinion of my fellow man - Greeks more so. Update- I have been informed that Steve is up to his tricks again. He has a new Ebay ID platinum-king and is committing fraud once again. He has the audacity to sell the very art I paid for. Steve is a soulless creature with no conscience. If you see this art listed anywhere on an auction site, please report it as stolen. Update- My last avenue left to me was to post on Steve's FB with pleas to return my money/art. Ever the coward, Steve has since blocked me on his Facebook account. There will be no resolution for me. Sigh...

I've heard the saying, "Never Trust a Greek", but I have never heard any reports of such deviously dishonest behavior by Steve until now...I'm shocked! He is notorious for playing buyers against eachother to get the "big money" for his Linsner art, but a straight out rip off is something new from him! I hope it is not true and that you get your art or money back in the end my friend. So sorry this has happened to you!

It's all quite true. I have tried contacting him through his Yahoo, Ebay, Facebook and CAF accounts with no response. This has been a nightmare.

I just saw that Steve tried to auction more stuff on ebay under a new id. What a scumbag! I hope his crimes catch up with him soon. Everyone I know around here is so honest and trustworthy when exchanging and selling art. It's sad to see a rotten apple in the bunch! Buyers BEWARE!!

wow... So sorry to hear this. It's bad enough that some dealers and some other collectors hold us over the barrel when wanting art, let alone thieves out there. I hate hearing about this stuff. I get so nervous when I sell/trade/ship stuff to folks and then there's this; the complete opposite. Does this site have a Buy, Sell, Trade Feedback thread/feature?

His FB is still active and he actually replied to me in 2021....before blocking me. I think he replied because I was messaging every FB friend of his with the same last name. He's truly total a POS!
