DescriptionAnother hard won piece but it went for a lot less than I thought. This is the debut of Lois Lane in a full splash, idol to independent women everywhere. I think they were too busy chasing the other Superman pages so I don't mind. This page does show what I've been talking about with Gary's art. The way you see Lois's righteous indignation is crystal clear to Stevie Wonder. The look of pain on Perry's face is also so expressive, I want to call the poor guy a doctor or at least buy him ear plugs. I see his face and the words "Oh.. my ulcer" play in my head. THis is a great page and am welcome to share i wih all of you. As always comments are VERY welcomeSocial/Sharing |

These pages remind me of the Superman movie. But they are definitely much more livelier than the movie adaptation comic. Congratulations on yet another splendid acquisition.

Mao, You're right. Alot of the dialogue is straight from the first Superman Movie with minor changes. Gary is also paying homage in his own right. If you look at the two planets on the bookcase, those are the ones they used in the original 4 movies and Superman Returns (~barfs at the thought of that stinker). That's not all Notice the bust of Elvis. In the 'Lois and Clark' TV show, Perry's catch phrase was "Great Shades of Elvis". I think this is another nod to the Superman legacy that was left before.

Awesome piece Fred and an awesome description. I never even noticed the Elvis and Daily Planet Statues until you pointed them out. Thanks for sharing and for the extra bit of trivia you included. Congrats!

Congrats!Mike. No problem. I notice little details like that. Thank god they only put in little things like that instead of making Lois look like Margot Kidder ~shudder~ I'm just happy they finally put the book out in TPB today. Like having all the stories in one book.

I love these kinds of pages! Has nothing to do with character or content, since there are no costumed heroes on the page. It's simply about showing what a good artist can do. Fabulous linework and lots of great detail. Congrats on having the good eye to spot and score this one!

Excellent page! I can her Lois adding "And another thing..." as poor Perry wishes she was not such a talented reporter.

Very cool page - expressive characters and many 'easter egg' details, like Elvis and the different version of the Daily Planet globe.

What a incredible page! It tells a story without any words needed! I also love the Elvis bust, sailboat model and what looks to be a framed photo of Krypto the Superdog on the bookcase! Maybe Perry is thinking of sailing while Elvis plays- gotta watch the blood pressure with Lois ranting!

Thank you so much. I do appreciate the comment. Gary is the master of detail. From the wood grain on the desk to the gold bag in the corner. It's uncanny
