Description

Sometimes the stars align and you are able to put your hands on a golden egg.

Sometimes, while you surf the net looking for nothing in particular, you see a piece that you like more than the one you already have. You decide to go for it and ask the seller to put it on hold for 48 hours to raise funds. You sell the other piece by the same artist in 10 seconds and confirm the purchase. You pay for it and you are very very happy.

Sometimes the piece you have purchased as published maybe is not published and you start asking around and you get only negative answers. And you start to feel frustrated. Very frustrated.

Sometimes, while emailing with a fellow collector about something else (Invisibles' art), you start talking about a common interest (Tank Girl) and you find out he has been offered 2 other pages by the same seller. You friend is reluctant to show them as he still has to decide which one he wants to buy (maybe both). Then he decides to go for only one page and he shows you the pages and you like his page a lot (as much as yours) but it is his page and there is nothing you can do. And you don't like the other page very much. But your friend knows the seller has a 3rd page, a better page, that he is reluctant to sell now but he will do it later this year for sure... So you switch from emails to facebook messenger and start chatting for hours in order to find a solution. And you do find it: a big swap - Your friend gets the better piece, you get his piece and no more hassles with the (probably) unpublished piece. Your friend is a writer and knows how to write. He writes a perfect written email... He sends it both to you and the seller and you wait for him to reply and in the meanwhile you keep chatting. You wait for maybe 30 minutes while analysing all the possible outcomes and then... BOOM... You get a message on your mobile: the seller accepts the deal! Celebrating time!

Fast forward - 10 days later: you can enjoy what karma has offered you as a present, a perfect and early published Tank Girl pin up by the one and only Jamie Hewlett (of Gorillaz' fame, a band you enjoy very much)

PS: in case you wonder, the third piece has been already sold! :-) Only the (probably) unpublished piece might be available... And it is coloured! :-)

PS2: copy and paste from another gallery "Tank Girl started in Deadline Comics in 1988 and was a counter culture icon from her inception. Her image was used repeatedly and was part of the anti-Clause 28 movement in the UK against a proposal to limit homosexual culture, literature and to refuse it being taught about in schools. Tank Girl was reprinted in many different languages and countries before finding its way to the North American market".
