Description(Acrylics on back of standard Marvel Board - 11" x 17") Boy can David Finch paint! This piece invokes images to me of the piece hanging in an old musty wooden library deep in a castle, with a roaring fire burning, the occupants discussing over a cognac the exploits of the one they call Hellboy. I've tried my best to capture the colours of the piece in the scan, but the piece has even more presence in reality. Dave finished the piece with varnish which gives it an old oil painting look. For me this is a "fine art" Hellboy =) Thanks Van for parting with this beauty!Social/Sharing |

I somehow missed this addition to your gallery - what an absolutely stunning piece. And you are certainly correct - he can indeed paint! This one is amazing!

I admired this for a long time... ever since it first showed up in Finch's CAF... it's apparent that Finch is an artist of exceptional caliber regardless of medium; but I really have enjoyed the few paintings that he's thus far blessed us with. Congrats on adding this stellar example!

This is so stunning ! Now I need to get one of those Finch paintings. But it will be tough to find one as great as that one :-( Sincere congrats !!!

Finch is indeed an exceptional artist, who can master any medium he tackles!
I'd love to see Finch's take on Conan the Barbarian, but that's unlikely. Peter, another grail piece to your already museum-worthy collection !!!!
