Description

Spectacular Spider-Man Magazine #1 and Amazing Spider-Man #116 Story Page 13 Original Art (Marvel, 1968/1973).

This page features Peter Parker, JJJ, Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant and Richard Raleigh.

This originally ran in the black and white magazine of 1968, however, when it was reprinted five years later in Amazing Spider-Man #116, there were several alterations made. The art was extended down to accommodate the new page size, Parker's sweater vest was done away with, some text was altered to fit the story into the current storyline, and Peter and Raleigh's faces were altered slightly. The page is crafted in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with a 10.5" x 15.75" image area. The page is slightly tanned with whiteout art corrections, paste-up text corrections, and some production oil stains on the sides of some panels.

Mooney finishing touches over JRSR were special.Love how cigar crushing JJJ and Pipe puffing Robertson battle each other in smoke clouds.Classic arch of Peter's brow as he tries to figure out what type of politician could win JJJ support.Also a panel with innocent Betty Brant! This one was a real treat to find this morning. Congratulations!!!
