1980s Thor Model Sheet done by Ron Frenz.

Ron told me this was one of the fist sketches of Thor that he did before he started on his run. He mentioned that he wanted to use the split cape but his inker/colorer said no. He also said he was expirimenting on the leather chest amor leaving the sides open. Ron was extremely nice and I enjoyed hearing his comments regarding the model sheet....

This is great. I miss Frenz on the big titles. He was one of the best in Thor history and here is a great proof why. Sincere congrats for that great piece and thank you for sharing !

Very cool. I have a couple Frenz model sheets of the same vintage. They are great little footnotes to some classic comics!

Very cool! I talked with Ron like 7-8 years ago a few times by phone. Very down to earth, I agree Ron should have always been on a main stream title. like Thor, the FF, I'd love to see him draw Shazam/Capt.Marvel for DC.
