DescriptionWhen Alan last came to SDCC in 2019, he did a number of pre-done illustrations. I decided to get the Black Cat instead of his pencils for a Wolverine vs Sabretooth. There are times when I second guessed myself for that decision. I must have pretty good karma because years later, a different version of Alan's Wolverine vs Sabretooth showed up at Clan McDonald. Joe Rubinstein isn't my first choice to ink Alan's pencils but the inks were already there and I think Joe did a great job with the inks. Given the two posts today, is it safe to assume that you're prepping to make the case on Monday night that Alan Davis is in the top five X-Men artists? I could get behind that argument. Love this piece!

Hey Mike - I can tell you that each panelist had to make uneasy cuts to narrow our lists to only five artists. And we had to rank the artists. On Monday, I'm going to set everybody straight on who the top 5 are.

Few comic images beat these 2 characters going toe to toe, especially as rendered by Davis and Rubinstein! Savage showdown, indeed! Congrats, Larry!

WOW! Another incredible Alan Davis piece! His fight scenes between Wolverine and Sabretooth were the best!

Growls filled the air, followed closely by a spray of red. Wolverine vs Sabretooth. The Snikt Special by Davis. He's so good at drawing this battle, and Rubinstein laid down some great inks. Nice score. Congrats!
