DescriptionDD 191 has a publication date of Feb 1983 which is a few months before Ronin #1hit the stands. As you can see, it's drawn in that "Ronin" style. I love the stylistic changes that Miller is experimenting with. From the end of the DD run, he gives us this Ronin style. He then of course does DKR and the Elektra graphic novel and Lone Wolf and Cub covers in a totally different style. Miller re-inventing himself/challenging himself in this creative period was amazing to witness as a fan. I remember eagerly anticipating what project FM would tackle next. From the late 1970s through 1980s, FM the writer/artist was on another creative level. Much thanks to Mitch @Graphic Collectibles for this cool cover!!!! Social/Sharing |

Very cool. I remember this cover well from around when I started collecting and reading. For me, Daredevil is my favorite Miller story line and Ronin is my favorite Miller art. This is a great transition piece. The Moebius influence on Miller's style is so apparent in this era of Miller art.

Wow, Joe, this is one of the more memorable Miller DD covers for me, I think, primarily because of the seemingly sudden change in style. You can really see what I would come to think of as his Ronin-era art style emerging on this cover.

Looking back, the cover was pencilled in the same style as the rest of FM's run on Daredevil. What amazed me was the inks all done in the cross hatching style. I can recall how cool it looked then. It still looks cool now. Great art is timeless and this one is a beauty. Congratulations my friend. Cheers! N.

Bronze Age beauty. Miller was always unafraid to take artistic chances. This cover is full of soul.
