Description

This piece brings a fusion of ideas and concepts. Trevor Von Eden spent a lot of time making this come together. Although the Batman Blackest Night cover focuses on death, the image itself got me thinking. In Legion lore, Shadow Lass ( and later Shadow Kid) are given their powers by the ghosts of their ansesctors to protect their homeworld of Talok V111. So the Blackest Night becomes a source of shadow power. The undead that attacks Batman is re-Legioned into the ghostly hand of the ancestors helping Shadow Lass to find the inner light of a hero. The layout was also heavily inspired by the work which Steve Lightle did on Issue 24 of the Legion. I am very fortunate to have a few of those pages. Trevor put a mountain of work into the inking, the symmetry, the logo for Shadow Lass that casts a shadow in and on itself, the work is insane and the scan, simply does not do this piece, justice.
