DescriptionFrank Miller, eat your heart out. :) Sometimes when I read a comic, quite rarely, but it happens, I come across a page that I instantly love, an example is the Lono page from 100 bullets #19 that I recently bought. Having read the entire series several times I can say that IMHO this is one of the best pages in the entire series. So simple, and so beautiful, with not a trace of whiteout. Eduardo Risso is a true master, and I am sure that this page will not be the last of his works that I own.The series is also included in the book "1001 comics you must read before you die". Since the author expresses more eloquently the strength of Risso's art than I ever could, here is an excerpt from the book: "Eduardo Risso's drawings are extremely expressive, with a heavy use of black for large areas, as shadows and facial expressions are often distorted or parts of the action obscured by the choice of the point of view. Eyes blue, veins are visible, noses are broad and broken, and clothes are draped and folded in impressive ways in order to help shape the characters and their environment. The exaggerated depiction of bodies and slight disproportion of faces only make the people appear more believable, in such that readers can almost smell the blood, sweat and tears gushing through the story." Sometimes a comic art page makes me think of a classic movie scene, and at least this is not "A Lonely Place for Dying" Well; congrats with a great choice of page from a Master!

A moment tender and hard at the same time. Without a doubt one of the best pages of the series.

Brilliant page. Actually I think that Risso is a master of the intimate scenes between men and woman. He uses is fantastic handling of heavy contrasts and "page/case architecture" to create the right amount of sexual tension and elegance in these scenes. This page is a very good example for that (+ there are other pages from the Batman or Logan runs that show Rissos greatness).
