Description

Always follow your heart's desire... I contacted Charles Vess a few months ago and asked about commissions. He was kind enough tho email me some prices and examples, and part of me was heartbroken at the prices and another part of me wondered what from my collection I might sell so that I could have a STARDUST commission of my very own. Then a week ago, Charles emailed me and asked if I was interested in this gorgeous page that will be used for the Harper Collins publication pf the prose version of STARDUST at the end of the month. Needless to say, I was not going to let this slip through my grasp. The page arrived tonight and is beyond my wildest dreams/ Charles described the page, " The painting is a sort of duplication of one of my original illustrations but it was the only image that I could think of that encapsulated most of the story and thus would serve as a frontspiece for this edition. I was VERY happy with how it turned out."

Thank You again to the sublime Charles Vess. This will go nicely with my one STARDUST page has a nice note from the incomparable Neil Gaiman.

I read your description and the first thing that came to mind was: Star light, star bright,/The first star I see tonight;/I wish I may, I wish I might,/Have the wish I wish tonight.

wow. seriously lost for words. I love (!!!) Stardust and I love Charles Vess and this is just incredible... there's such a fairy tale feeling to this piece but it still has that touch of darkness that the story has. Incredible piece, congrats!
