DescriptionBeginning 1953 Walt Kelly used to style one Christmas daily (mostly the December 25th, but examples exist from December 23rd until 26th) per year (with the notable exception of 1959 for which there exists none such styled daily) in the form of a Christmas greeting (he also used these motives on his Christmas greeting cards)...needless to say that these are highly coveted by collectors. This is a wonderful example from 1964, which has been featured (page 196) in Andrae/Laqua’s great book “Walt Kelly: The Life and Art of the Creator of Pogo”....I’m always interested in any of these...Social/Sharing |
