Description

Quinlan Vos is one of my all-time favorite "expanded universe" characters from Star Wars. Created by John Ostrander & Jan Durrsema, Quinlan had an incredible character arc that developed in the pages of the Star Wars: Republic series published by Dark Horse. Although he never appeared in any of the films, he did get name-checked in Revenge of the Sith, when Obi-Wan tells Anakin that "Saleucami has fallen, and Master Vos has moved his troops to Boz Pity." The trade paperbacks collecting the first two story arcs featuring Quinlan, "Twilight" and "Darkness," had covers drawn by Andrew Robinson. I liked his rendition of Quinlan, and I decided that if I ever did get a sketch of the character, I'd want it to be by Robinson. He was at the 2007 Javits Center comicon, and so I had the opportunity to make that request. Luckily he had time to do a head shot. When I gave him reference for Quinlan, Andrew replied, "Oh, yeah, I remember that guy." I ended up paying more than I had intended, but it was worth it, since I had been looking forward to getting this for some time, and it came out so well.
