Description

An astoundingly detailed piece pencilled by David Finch and inked by Joe Weems for the Gnomon instructional video series on how to create comic pages. Special thanks to Joe for letting go of it. In his original notes he mentioned that the pencils were done on a sheet of paper that wasn't suitable for inking, so he made a print of it on bristol and inked that for the final demo.

This is one of those pieces that has to be seen in person to really appreciate. The intricate details are truly impressive, and the textures and delicate linework from the inking are hard to appreciate fully unless you can get your nose right up to it. The color version on the cover of one of DF's sketchbooks obscures a lot of the fine lines, it's a much better experience in black and white!
