Description

This "fantasy with a twist" story appeared as a back-up in Conan 12 and allows Gil Kane to exploit in full-page configuration the type of scenes and characters he was developing around then in Blackmark, much to my delight!

The funny game here is: who inked what?

The official credits list the inker as "Diverse Hands". It is generally believed that Tom Palmer was the main contributor (look at the shields and helmets), but there are rumours of Berni Wrightson (the guards in the final panel?) and Neal Adams giving a hand (the main figure of Kalligor in the first panel and his face close-up in the fourth?)

Anyway, it doesn't distract from the fact that it's a great Kane page! And if you know more, drop me a line!...

Fabulous page! Love Gil Kane's layouts here. And whoever inked the page did a superb job, IMHO.

Thanks Bill! I agree, of course! It's hard to find an inker who failed to do justice to Gil Kane's pencils, such was his talent... Having said that, I'm happy when some of the big names pull together and have fun on the same page!
