DescriptionMy very first piece of original art. I miss Don Newton. He was the first artist that I followed regularly (I followed Michael Golden before Newton, but his work was so sporadic, that following him was difficult). At the time, he was doing Batman, Detective and the Capatin Marvel stories in World's Finest. Captain Marvel was my favorite of his (and, I believe, his favorite). The stories were fresh, Captain Marvel looked heroic, Junior looked a lot like Mac Raboy's version and Mary looked sweet and powerful. I liked other stories in World's Finest and I liked the Daily Planet (with Fred Hembeck's comic strip), but Cap was my favorite.Social/Sharing |
