DescriptionOut of the pit he comes! Falling or the threat of falling seems to be a common motif in ‘Bad Company’ – literalising, I suppose, Danny’s fall from grace and innocence (straight into the hell of Ararat) but also suggesting the way in which few of the characters, if any, are in control of their descent and destinations. Have a scan through the story and see how many times characters either fall into chasms or off cliffs, or come very close to doing so. On this page, De Racine, the ultimate cynic and man without a purpose seems to be resisting the lesson Danny has learned and will soon exemplify – that all life is linked. (Note the panel where Danny grieves for Krool - it has even been suggested that the ‘Simply’ story from Prog 601 is part of this vision from the pit.)Social/Sharing |

It would have been interesting if the Simply story had been placed between when Danny falls into the Put and when he is rescued.
