Description

Just in time for Halloween is this stellar commission piece by Disney illustrator and concept artist, Chad Townsend. I simply asked Chad for a DD/Mephisto piece, and here is the amazing result that sprung up from that simple seed of an idea. Chad and I share an affinity for Ann Nocenti's/JrJr's DD/Mephisto interactions, and you can see the loving homage to those encounters that Chad portrays herein. I can't recommend Chad highly enough for both his artistic prowess and his willingness to provide the commissioner with full access to his process (see the updates below that occurred over a course of only three days of work from start to finish). Thanks so very much, Chad, on going above and beyond the call of duty.

This is fantastic. I, too, loved Mephisto's appearance back during John Romita Jr.'s run, and think that Chad captured that well here. I also just love all of the demons on the ground.

Flashback to the 80's, I loved Romita Jr's run especially with Mephisto. That's a character I wish they would go back to. Very cool idea having DD escape his minions.
