DescriptionThis is the “Joe Chill” Dark Knight page. I really, really like this page. The way Miller structured the panels; squeezing them together, thus making the time seem to speed up, making the “click” noise louder and louder, creating intensity and letting us watch Bruce Wayne once again succumb to the madness that is Batman. It’s just awesome. This is the page where the Dark Knight truly returns, and I was happy to pick it up.Social/Sharing |

In terms of pure Miller storytelling...this might be as good a page as we've seen from Heritage. Another congrats, if you're not tired of them already!

"KLIK, KLIK, KLIK..." Love it! The tension just builds and builds, until he just has to don the cowl again! Cool page!

Could be wrong, but wasn't this the first time anyone did this scene this way, with the close-ups of the pearl necklace bursting apart? (today it's been done so often it's become a cliche)

Marvellous storytelling! When Miller was on fire, as in this page, he was better than the rest of them.

Really nice page - shows what comics can do that movies can't. Miller was a genius. Congrats!!

Love the way this page directs my eye and picks up the pace with such intensity! Miller really knows how to focus on details from a first persons point of view. Storytelling at it's finest! Congrats!

I think this might have been the steal of that HA auction. A great piece of visual storytelling - real weird that it ended up in your gallery.

Whether it's with a series of splash pages or 16 panel pages FM has a way of putting together words and pictures to create a visceral experience that's like nothing else. This scene and this page is a great example of how Miller creates that dramatic tension that allows a reader to fall into the story and experience the story rather than read it. Congrats on the new addition Ron

Probably the best panel page from DKR to come up for auction in recent years. Big congrats!
