Description

A Mission to Murder cover art originally used for Air Ace 459, September 1969. The story had been used earlier with the name Brand of Courage and this artwork was used twice more to illustrate the story, both with slightly different aspects, these were Battle Picture Library 971, January 1976 and Battle Picture Library 1645, December 1983. The final cover led to the piece being covered with a piece of card, many thanks to my friend Stuart for selling it to me, now restored and framed, well worth the efforts of our restorer John Hood. The cover depicts the De Halivand Mosquito raid on Amiens Prison in German-occupied France on 18 February 1944.
