Description

Another Norman Rockwell parody by Jesse Ian Rubenfeld. I got the idea while waiting with Teddy at the veterinarian for hours. This is my first piece by Jesse with more than one Super-Pet.

Featuring from the top left-Comet the SuperHorse, Ace the Bat Hound, Streaky the Super-Cat.

In the bottom left corner Supergirl with Krypto the Super-Dog

In the bottom right Insect Queen (Lana Lang) holds Beppo the Super-Monkey.

In the doorway in the upper right, Buddy Baker, Animal Man, is our Super-Vet, treating Hoppy the Marvel Bunny-although you can only see her hand and a portion of her costume, Mary Marvel is holding Hoppy.

Finally in the top middle, a little boy dressed as Zorro holds his dog.

Jesse wanted to make it clear that this was a frightened boy wearing a costume and trying to put on a brave face among the superheroes and super-pets. He is clearly more worried than his dog.

Zorro represents me. I first wore a homemade Zorro costume (made by my mother) at the age of seven. The dog is my brave Teddy.

I recognized the image straight away. There is a copy of that Rockwell hanging on the wall of my vets office..Great homage
