Description

My crown jewel from MoCCA Fest 2014. I absolutely had to get this when I heard Tom was going to be there.

A. In the famous "Beware the Creeper" episode from the Batman cartoon, the Creeper once trashed a thrift store looking for a costume. Everyone in the store fled, except for one shop girl who stood there with the most deadpan expression on her face. She didn't seem disturbed AT ALL by the giggling yellow maniac going through the store, and each response to the Creeper's statements was snarkier than the last. And she DID help him put his costume together. Because she didn't have a name, fans call her Thriftie.

B. Tom is the writer and artist of Gunnerkrigg Court, and one of the most popular characters from that series is the enigmatic Jones, a woman well known for her default, deadpan expression and seeming incapability of expressing any sort of emotion.

C. With B in mind, I thought A was a natural thing to do and I am so glad I did.
