DescriptionI was hoping to post a Kirby inspired cover this weekend but to quote Marvel editors of bygone days .."The Dreaded Deadline Doom " descended upon us. However this Steranko inspired piece I feel, is a more than adequate substitute.Paul Gould who has a gallery up on CAF approached me about 2 years ago , when I started pursuing commissions. I loved his clever twists on old covers and I agreed. For a myriad of reasons, it took a while to get it penciled. I think Paul ,who is exceptionally gifted, like many other talented artists is his harshest critic and he kept tweaking it and doing changes here & there. Eventually I put it aside & moved on to other projects. Then last year, while at the Tampa Con, an inker called Tony Kordos saw Paul's pencils. Even though I had another project in mind for Tony, this one just caught his imagination. He took it and he ran wild with it. It is more than I ever imagined. Russ then built upon their work with his digital dexterity and we have a gem. There are slight differences between Paul's pencils & the final version but I think we stayed true to the original Steranko inspiration albeit with some cool Legion twists. Starman has his own Infinite Timeline series ( which will be posted & completed by the autumn ) but in the meantime, this standalone "Untold Tales " gem should satisfy Thom's fans. Now this is what a "Fill In" issue should be like! Solid art from Paul. I have seen some of his other cover recreations here. Great inks on this too!

How funny, when I saw the tile I immediately thought I'd be seeing Ted Knight. Well it is Infinite Timelines. :)
Great work, although lately I have been very discouraged by the time some artists take to complete a commission. then you run into a Robson Rocha and your bad thoughts get wiped away with a simple scan.
Great commission!
Congrats!!!!

Thanks and I promise you before the year is out you will have an AMAZING Ted ( Starman ) Knight Infinite Timelines image. It is based on a wonderful Gil Kane Green Lantern cover. Good things come to those who wait but the waiting can be very hard in commission world...

This was executed very well, really shows him under the weight of the worlds!

With his power to increase mass, density and gravity, his ability to travel via black holes between universes plus the fact that his costume is a living map of the multi-verse...Starman was the most logical Legionnaire for this cover homage.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tony Kordos at the Miami Supercon many years ago, and wow, this piece is an excellent example of his amazing inking talents.
