Description

I already had a fantastic page from Esad Ribic's magnum opus: Silver Surfer Requiem, a grandiose, fully cosmic "Intense Soaring" splash that continuously blows me away, day after day.

I had then thought I would never feel the urge to acquire another... until I saw this one!�

In perfect contrast to the other, this one displays an uncanny sense of serenity I have rarely seen in comics. With its lush green trees in the foreground, its discreet church-like arcs in the background, it offers the perfect setting for Norrin Radd's final moments, finally at peace with himself, honored by his people, supported by his one true love.

The choice of colors is especially interesting as this is the only page in the whole series to do without the otherwise dominant metallic blues and yellows. This helps soothing what would otherwise be a very sad scene. The emotion is still there, but more balanced, more subtle.

Truly, Esad Ribic is a Master of his art!
