DescriptionI have to admit that of all that was Kirby:Genesis Silver Star was my least favorite. Not knocking either writer or artist but, having also read the old Topps Comics version, I do find myself wondering if SS is just one of those characters that only Kirby himself "got". Being somewhere between Captain Atom and Captain America seems to be a hard fit. What I did find cool about the K:G series, though, was the Iron Grid. The series first villains were animals that had gone through the same process that made Silver Star super-human. How wonderfully High Evolutionary :)I was lucky enough that Johnny still had a number of pages from the series and was very delighted to find that the first reveal of the Grid were among them. Last page of issue 2! Silver Star has fallen even after executing a perfect roundhouse-Norris kick in that top panel. Clearly these Iron Grid folks are force to be reckoned with because what can truly stand against the perfect roundhouse-Norris kick !?! Original size 11x17 Social/Sharing |
