DescriptionIt was an easy choice deciding on an artist to recreate the cover of Nova #13 which featured The Sandman and first appearance of Crimebuster. I approached Steven Butler because his rendition of Sandman on Silver Sable and The Wild Pack just rocked! The original cover was a montage(seen below),and Steven gave me three rough's to choose from for this particular piece. I went with this version and I'm glad I did. I flipped when I saw the finished version. I'm still trying to decide what's cooler,The look on Sandman's face or Crimebuster's rope gun shooting through Sandman's arm. Nova's cracked helmet(It actually did crack it the very next issue),was an added bonus. This cover takes it place among the top in my Nova recreation series.It's as classic as classic gets. I will certainly be working with Steven again Update: Colors once again provided by Javi Solanes. Javi was nice enough to include a classic and modern take on this cover as he has done with so many others.I'm going with classic for the win this time! Thank you Javi! Social/Sharing |

I like that Steven put sand all over Nova, nice touch on a classic (new) cover.

Beautiful, Rob. This would definitely have caught my attention if I saw it on the spinner rack!
