Greta has been on my wish list next to Billy's name for years, and this year I finally put together the references needed and got this sketch.

Greta is my favorite character from the 5th Elm Street movie, even if it's not one of the most popular ones. A beautiful rich girl with hopes of becoming a professional model, she also has to deal with an overbearing mother who watches everything she does and eat, and also can't find the strength to admit she loves her friend Mark. Freddy kills Greta in one of the more graphic scenes of the Elm Street series, by force-feeding her with her own organs and then violently choking her to death. Most of Greta's death had to be cut out of official releases of the movie to avoid an X-rating.

While I won't lie that the deleted scene aspect of Greta's character is one of the reasons why I like her, I also enjoyed Erika Anderson's acting. There's a scene that takes place after Freddy's first victim in the movie, Dan Jordan, is killed. It's of Greta in her room (which contains a prominent doll collection that foreshadows her death), silently weeping over Dan's photo in the yearbook alongside the photograph taking hours before his death at the Springwood High graduation ceremony. It's little, but it's sweet and endearing to me, especially because it didn't immediately lead to Greta's death nor did it involve Alice, the main character. You don't really see scenes like this in slasher movies, and it helps round out Greta's personality and character.
