Description

VAMPIRELLA #79, Page 22. This slightly oversized, 11.5 x 17 inch, Warren magazine page, was published in 1979, with pencils by Val Mayerik and inks by Joe Rubinstein. The page shows a maiden being stalked by giant lizards in the "Edward & Griselda" story written by Cary Bates. Rubinstein's delicate line work in some background shading and sections of the wooden cart is lost in any reproduction, but this original is absolutely gorgeous. There is some staining at the top of panel one and a nine inch strip of masking tape along the outside of the right border, both normal for comic book art "production" pages. If you have the issue, you know the "twist" ending on the tale. Warren originals are getting much more difficult to locate. SOLD
