I can hardly think of a better choice of artist for this project than Bill Sienkiewicz (even though the book was initally laid out by this young gun by the name of Will Eisner...)
He's a visionary very much like Hendrix was, and his choice of colors and panels use complements and enhances the story, letting the letrasetted music seep from the pages.
It took me a while to find the right page: some were too expensive for me, some had too many photocopied panels: I finally scored this at LuccaComics 2014, which is just perfect. Jimi's on it, wailing away in a Purple Haze, and there's Bill's trademark scratches and modded photocopy-work on a beautiful color palette.

Thanks heaps to Francesco Bazzana of tavoleoriginali.com for ending my search with a keeper.
