So today is my birthday and what better way to celebrate than to share a piece of art that has a 'name day' story element!

I'm a huge Kevin Nowlan fan. He's one of 3 artist that I actually think draw Superman well (not a big Superman fan). I also really enjoy his painted work but this is something I am really happy to have in my collection.

This is the comic adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. The book was layed out by the incredible P. Craig Russel, with each chapter being drawn by a different artist.

This is the page where Bod gets his name (Nobody). Besides being a great point in the story, I also love that this page has the lettering. I am extremely fond of pages with lettering so this is def. a bonus. It's also a great example of Kevin's storytelling ability. I love the way he drew the characters I love the second to last panel. There is such kindness in the character, such care taken with drawing little Bod... This page is everything I'd want in a Kevin Nowlan piece; it has the pencils, the inks, the distinct Nowlan mouths... it's just a beauty and I am very glad I was able to get it. Thanks a lot Kevin!

How wonderful. HAPPY, HAPPY, BIRTHDAY ANNA! I certainly hope you will be celebrating in more ways than just posting this page, but it's certainly a wonderful start. Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely WORSHIP Kevin Nowlan and hold PCR in very high regard as well. To see a work of art by two of my art heroes is such a treat. Truly a fabulous page to mark the anniversary of the day of your birth. I could stare at this piece for hours. Congratulations! And again, my very best wishes for your birthday my dear!
