DescriptionThis is one of my personal grail commission.Amazing Spider-man Vs Superior Spider-man. Inspired by the fight @ Superior Spider-man #9. Superior Spider-man by Ryan Stegman. Amazing Spider-man by Humberto Ramos. Colors by Edgar Delgado. Spider-man head sketch by 92 year old Stan "The Man" Lee. There's a big story behind this commission which led to the head sketch by Stan Lee. And what makes it so special to me is that I don't even live in USA. I live in South East Asia. Thanks to my friend, Jake, this could happen. This commission idea started 2 years ago. I had an idea of Amazing Spider-man battling Superior Spider-man in something of a mirror image / pose. It took a while due to different artists that I wanted to work on it had different con schedules. After a couple of months, the original commission was almost done and the only thing left was getting it signed by Stan Lee. But then something dreadful happened. It went missing. It was thought to be stolen. Police report was filed, insurance was claimed. Luckily it was covered, so shortly after, the artists began to schedule for the replacement. I was still devastated back then, hoping and praying it would be found. A funny thing happened though. When the 2nd one was about to get done, someone who works for Stan Lee found it. So what to do with the first one, we thought? Stan Lee offered to sketch on the 2nd one (this one) and in return he wanted to keep the 1st one in his museum. I didn't think twice. To know that my idea now rests in his museum is enough to make me smile. Let alone getting his sketch on my commission piece. And I think for a 92 year old he did a pretty good job on that head sketch :) Special thanks to my friend, Jake. I owe you big time, buddy! Social/Sharing |

Thank you, guys. While I'm happy with the end result, I have to say that this is probably going to be my last jam piece. Considering the costs and effort (since I don't live in USA) and griefs (when things didn't go as planned) associated with creating a jam piece, I think I will stick to normal commissions and published pages / covers.

If he added your first piece to his museum before Comikaze 2014 I must have seen it then. This one is wonderful!
