Swamp Thing : Concept Design (for DC cover art)
Pencil Detail (Full drawing posted below)
Pencil on 8.5 x 11 paper

This is a pencil drawing I did just before drawing a couple Swamp Thing covers for DC. Done as a visual guide/ concept of how I would be drawing the character on the covers.

I was given free reign to show my take on the character. With my version, I tried to mix parts of Bernie Wrightson's original design (which I love) with the more dark & plant covered look from when Swamp Thing was at Vertigo. Along with my own sense of style and shapes:)
