And so it's finally come this. I finally managed to commission Rick Mays, THE artist to go to for an Arsenal piece, and I worked up the strength to commission a heavyset Roy from him.

I've been facebook friends with Rick for a few years now, and even did an interview with him for an Arsenal fan site. I finally got around to formally commissioning him a few months ago, and of course I wanted to get a Roy piece from him. Rick had been sending me WIPs of how it was looking over facebook. At one point, he joked that considering how big he was making Roy's gut, all he'd need is an eyepatch to look like a pirate.

Which of course just gave me an idea for another commission in the future...

I really wish that Rick did more comics work, as he is insanely talented. I loved his 90's Arsenal miniseries.
