Description

�� Animator Preston Blair drew the Hyacinth Hippo scenes in Disney's Fantasia and the nightclub singer in Tex Avery's MGM cartoons Red Hot Riding Hood, The Shooting of Dan McGoo, Swing Shift Cinderella, and others. He is also the author of the Walter Foster series of books on animation strongly endorsed by animation authority Jerry Beck. The rare first edition with it's original drawn examples can be seen online at the non-profit Animation Resources or John K Curruculum with John Kricfalusi's commentary. Artist Mary Blair was married to Preston's artist brother Lee.

�� I do hope to get a Preston Blair drawing of Red someday, but she is a popular character for animation and comic artists. Dark Horse featured her in a few comic books. I have a Tex Avery character gallery with a complete Bill Morrison Wolf & Red story. This is one of two dancers offered by Howard Lowery from the Preston Blair estate. These are believed to be for a 1960's or 1970's animated project, possibly for a television commercial.
