Description

The second and last of the New Bloods pieces at NYCC. After receiving it I initially forgot my book at their table and didn't realize until a few hours later (I sadly rushed to attend the Charity Auction after I saw the finished piece). Luckily the duo noticed I forgot it and helped avert a huge horror story for me and I can't thank them enough.

That almost makes the story behind this piece a bit less interesting. Art duties were as such. Loose Cannon by Adam Withers and the Marvels by Comfort Love.

The origin of this piece is amusing as unlike the the other pieces of this sketchbook it came about due to an odd throwaway line from a JSA comic featuring the JLA and JSA having a Thanksgiving Dinner. In it, one of the JLA asks Billy why his sister is busy or otherwise not attending. He states that she's dating Loose Cannon or somesuch.

An odd story given Mary's a teen and Loose Cannon's an adult. Especially as the two never to my knowledge interacted in any comic. I assume the writer had no idea there was a character by that name and likely just meant she was dating some random punk teenager with some anger at authority.

But I couldn't let the thought die and I figure what if Billy saw the two teaming up and simply got the wrong idea? Wisdom of Solomon be damned. Lo and behold here we are.
