Description

Interior illustration for "Martin Bear and Friends" by Thomas Hauser, published by Hastings House in 1997. This image accompanied the first poem in the book, “You’re Upside Down, Martin Bear”, on page 9. It was also reproduced on the back cover.

I’ve also included a preliminary drawing that I just picked up from Rowena which was featured on page 38 in “The Art of Rowena”, published by Pavilion Books in 2000. I love that you can see some evolution to the piece as she worked through her process, how she changed the skunk in the prelim into a fairy in the final version.
