Description

Despite having been quite famous in his native country, Jess Jodloman is not among the most prominent Filipino artists in the comics industry.

Well, I think it's a shame! It may be due to the fact he never got to sign a high-profile strip (to my knowledge), but this doesn't distract from the fact his art could really pack a punch!

Case in point is this gorgeous splash page from the now largely forgotten Marvel Classics Series.

Well, this is the Odyssey, of course! And I've already voiced my profund love for Homer's stories. But this portrayal of Ulysses and his boat clicks all the right buttons.

To me, Jess Jodloman's sense of grandeur is perfectly suited to the larger-than-life story!

After all, could we expect less from a man who once trained Alex Nino?...
