I picked this up from the Man himself! John's a great guy and we chat ever year at Baltimore Comic-con. I've been eyeing the cover and I finally decided to pull the trigger. John said this piece holds a special place for him as it was done during some major life changes, and felt he himself was in the middle of the fray depicted here, and that this spilled out onto the final art, as he added details such as the cut across Stan's forehead and gashes in his costume.
