Description

�� Yingjue Chen is an artist at DreamWorks Animation on Guillermo del Toro 'Trollhunters' series.. Previously, she attended the Academy of Art University and worked at videogame companies in San Francisco. When she announced commission opportunities shortly after CTNX in November 2015, I jumped on the chance. Yingjue and her twin sister Mingjue produced fan art for the Gainix anime Neon Geneisis Evangelion in their sketchbooks and online. The subjects were usually Eva pilots Rei and Asuka in their plug suits. I suggested one of the two pilots from Hideaki Anno's directorial debut Aim for the Top! Gunbuster from Gainax. I have the younger pilot Noriko Takaya by the character designer Haruhiko Mikimoto. Yingjue chose to do Kazumi Amano, the subject of admiration of the entire school of teens training for space combat. She's wearing the flight suit from the show. The names of the two pilots were taken from two Gainax staffers.
