I've long been a fan of Jack Unruh's illustration work, and judging by the outpouring of love when he passed away in May of this year, he had many fans and friends. I was quite thrilled to be able to pick up a wonderful piece by Unruh quite recently. It was done for the April 1999 issue of National Geographic Travel magazine, for a story entitled "Confessions of a Cheese Smuggler". It pictures a man and woman in a hotel in Paris, and has, at least to my mind, a distinct Pierre Bonnard vibe to it. Bonnard would occasionally tip the floors in his compositions slightly, which Unruh has done here, and the subject matter of the bather has Bonnard written all over it. In any event, the amount of detail is not possible to capture in a scan, though I've added a detail shot below.

Unruh's work has always been amazing. Congrats on being the first to post one of his illustrations here on CAF
