Description

June was the creator of one of the Original English Manga volumes published by Tokyopop during the mid 2000s. She wrote and illustrated "12 Days," a story about a woman using an unorthodox method of grieving for her dead girlfriend. I got a copy for Christmas a few years ago and was surprised to hear June would be at Flame Con.

Hypnota was a stage magician who donned fake facial hair and a phony French accent. Her twin sister and assistant, Serva, accidentally shot her while they were practicing a feat for their magic routine and Hypnota needed brain surgery. The treatment somehow unlocked the power to hypnotize people within Hypnota's brain, and believing Serva had tried to kill her on purpose, she used this power to make Serva forget they were sisters. Hypnota started using her magic shows to hypnotize people into captivity and sell them to Saturnian slavers. She'd use Serva's altered memories to pull off identity switches with no one realizing they were sisters. She was later a founding member of Villainy Inc.

During the Post-Crisis WW stories, she was renamed Hypnotic Woman and the facial hair was removed from her costume.
