Description

I instantly thought of this cover upon news David Bowie had died, being one of my favorite homages/references to him, and so I was delighted at the recent opportunity to own the original art. Being a rare blend of my musical and collecting interests I knew I had to get it. Now that I have the art in hand, I find myself unexpectedly intrigued by the architecture, perspective and even the writing on the building. Swapping a guitar for a sci-fi robot rifle is was a great idea too. There's so much fantastic attention to detail within the overall piece, which itself is stunning. Casey really delivered on this one. Joana Lafuente's colors on the final cover are a refreshing hi-res interpretation of the original The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars album cover. This is certainly one of my favorite original comic art piece I have, and not one I expected to acquire.
